Sandbars and Coral
Heads
Sandbars and Coral Heads are noted with a special
symbol. They can pop-up anywhere and are a prime
reason to chart your course so that you can avoid
these hazards to navigation.
On the above chart you
can see that the sandbars are the dark color, the
shallows are a darker blue and the lighter blue is a
little deeper. Finally the lightest color indicates
the deepest water. Also note the channel that
provides safe passage.
